About Clay Sowards
Clay, our owner and operator, graduated from MMI before moving to Texas. He has 10 years’ worth of experience in different businesses, which include a small five-man motorcycle shop and one of the largest dealerships in the country.
Our Humble Beginnings
Clay was having a great time working with motorcycles but he knew he needed to come back home to South Dakota. Once he was settled in Sioux Falls, he thought that the city was missing something, a small motorcycle shop that is customer-focused and offers lower costs. This is what motivated him to start Barely Legal Bikes in 2010.
